Are you a teenager who is considering attending university?  Do you have questions about registering for classes, navigating social life, finding the best study methods, choosing suitable housing and roommates, and other concerns?

Join our panel of university students who have completed their first or second years at local institutions for an informative session on all things university and ask.

Registration is required by April 24. Please register online or email Jessie at hawkesj@nvdpl.ca with questions.

Valentine's Contest Winners 2023

Congratulations to Norah Leighton, Chris Leighton, and their son the winners of the annual Valentine's Day Contest hosted by Lynn Valley Village merchants. The lucky family won a fantastic gift basket filled with products and gift certificates from various merchants, including Zazou Salon and Academy, Beach Tanning Studios, Browns Socialhouse Lynn Valley, YYOGA, Canyon Dental & Laser Skin Care, Posy Floral Design, and Delany's Coffee House.

Seeing the community coming together to spread love and support local businesses is terrific. With over 500 entries, the contest was a huge success, and it was great to see the participation of everyone. The annual Valentine's Day Contest is just one example of the numerous events and initiatives the Lynn Valley Village merchants host throughout the year.

Friends of the Library Book Sale 2023

Book sale

The Friends of the Library book sale is hosting their annual Book Sale from February 17th to 19th in the Lynn Valley Library Community Room (1277 Lynn Valley Rd):

  • Friday, February 17th from 10:00am to 4:00pm
  • Saturday, February 18th from 10:00am to 4:00pm
  • Sunday, February 19th from 10:00am to 2:00pm. On Sunday, everything is half price!

Not only will you have the chance to find something special, but you'll also be supporting special projects at NVDPL. This is a great opportunity for all ages to explore a fantastic selection of books, DVDs, CDs and more, most of which are priced under $2.

It's important to follow all posted COVID-19 safety guidelines during the event. Please note that payment is cash only and small bills are preferred. Don't forget to bring your own bag to carry your purchases.

Mark your calendars for February 17th to 19th and join the Friends of the Library book sale to support a great cause while finding something special.

All ages are welcome!

Lynn Valley Village's Valentine's Day Contest 2023

We're excited to announce that our annual Valentine's Day Contest is now open, and we're inviting you to enter your loved one for a chance to win a fantastic gift basket filled with products from our merchants.

The entry process is simple, you can enter once, but feel free to share the contest with your friends and family, who can also participate.

We would also love it if you would like on Facebook page and sign up for our e-newsletter. This way, you'll be the first to know about the latest news and events happening in the Village, as well as future contests.

Parade of Trees Lynn Valley Village 2022

We hope you join us for the events planned in Lynn Valley Village this season.

Sunday, December 4, 2:00 - 4:00 pm

Lantern Making Workshop

Lynn Valley Community Room // FREE Registration here

Join us at Lynn Valley Village in the community room to create lanterns for the tree lighting! Drop by anytime between 2:00-4:00 pm to make a lantern. We will meet in the plaza with the lanterns at 4:25 pm for a tree lighting event and a walk around the trees. Pre-registration is encouraged.


Sunday, December 4, 4:00 - 5:00 pm

The Parade of Trees Grand Lighting Ceremony

Lynn Valley Village Plaza //FREE event

Join us for the lighting ceremony for the Parade of Trees on December 4 from 4 - 5 pm, with the lighting at 4:45 pm, with Mayor Mike Little and MLA Susie Chant.

There will be face painting, entertainment from the Black Bear Band and balloon twisting. Also, a surprise finale after the lighting. Instead of the inside crafts, there will be a scavenger hunt sheet to hand out to the kids.

NVRC's Lantern parade will be at 4:25 pm.

The event is outdoor only and put on by Lynn Valley Community Association with support from Lynn Valley Village, NVRC, Rona, Lynn Valley Centre, Twin Lions, The District of North Vancouver and the Great Canadian Landscaping Company.

Proceeds from the Parade of Trees will go to the Harvest Project.
